This is what I wrote about Lou Dobbs on November 17th:

I rather like Mr. Lou Dobbs. I believe him to be talented and a bulldog in beliefs. This is refreshing coming from a journalist. We have a number of beliefs in common and I wish him the best. Watch Mr. Dobbs. We have not heard the last from him, guaranteed.

Well I am sitting here dumb founded wondering how I could have been such a dope. I grant that I haven’t watched Dobbs much on TV but the little I did he seemed a straight shooter. I was wrong. So very wrong.

Dobbs was known for his public stance opposing amnesty for illegal aliens. He seemed solid on it, at least publicly on TV. In fact his stance opposing amnesty for illegal aliens was apparently one of the reasons he left CNN (least that was the story) and likely the reason he and his wife were shot at (least that was the most likely reason). Yet, as he was quitting CNN he said he was going to talk to Roberto Lovato, whose Presente.org group helped organize the anti-Dobbs petition effort. This is what Dobbs said:

“This has been an orchestrated campaign of both distortion and outright propaganda for the purpose of the open border and unconditional amnesty agenda,” Dobbs said. “That’s politics. I understand that. But I’m going to reach out to everyone with whom I’ve had a disagreement and see if there’s a way in which we can calmly and dispassionately discuss our differences and talk about solutions.”

That text should have been a blaring klaxon (I did think it a little strange but Dobbs was true blue, right? WRONG!) Then, less than 10 days later, without so much as a by your leave, we learn that Lou Dobbs has turned around 180 degrees on his no amnesty for illegal aliens and now backs amnesty while talking about running for office in New Jersey.

Wow! Talk about a sucker punch to the gut. Thank you, Dobbs. You have successfully made me doubt the integrity of public figures and those seeking or in office even more. I know you don’t give a damn. But I think, rather than rant on regarding how Dobbs has lost any shred of credibility, etc., I think I will just sum it up with, “Lou Dobbs is a pathetic joke”.

I give you two articles below regarding Dobbs’.

From wnd.com dated 11/25/2009 by Joe Kovacs entitled, “What the … ? Lou Dobbs wants to legalize illegals; Ex-CNN anchor suddenly champions amnesty, ripped as ‘pathetic sellout’

Former CNN anchor Lou Dobbs, the illegal immigration opponent with possible presidential aspirations, is stunning many today as he recasts himself as a champion of Hispanic immigrants, now looking to legalize millions of illegal aliens in the United States.

Despite his long-held opposition to “amnesty,” Dobbs now actually supports a plan to legalize undocumented workers.

“Whatever you have thought of me in the past, I can tell you right now that I am one of your greatest friends and I mean for us to work together,” he told Maria Celeste of the Spanish-language network Telemundo. (Click here for video of full interview.) “I hope that will begin with Maria and me and Telemundo and other media organizations and others in this national debate that we should turn into a solution rather than a continuing debate and factional contest.”

“Many Hispanics consider you to be the No. 1 enemy of Latinos,” Celeste told Dobbs. “Do you think that the community is somehow misjudging you?”

“Oh, not somehow. Definitively, absolutely,” Dobbs responded. “By the way, I don’t believe for a moment that the Latino, Hispanic community in the United States believes that of me at all. It has been the efforts of the far left to characterize me in their propaganda as such.”

Twice during the interview, Dobbs mentioned plans to legalize millions of illegal aliens in America, saying “we need the ability to legalize illegal immigrants under certain conditions.”

“What isn’t working is a penalty to those who are in this country illegally for whom we can both be building a bridge to the future in which there is legalization and at the same time constructing an environment in which everyone is clear and unequivocal about the need for border security and a regulated flow of immigration,” Dobbs told Telemundo.

Dobbs’ spokesman Bob Dilenschneider told the Wall Street Journal the former broadcaster draws a distinction between illegal aliens who have committed crimes since arriving in the U.S. and those who are “living upright, positive and constructive lives” who should be “integrated” into society. He said Dobbs recognizes the political importance of Hispanics and is “smoothing the water and clearing the air.”

Reaction from the public is already strong, including online comments such as:

* “Obviously, the old boy is losing his wits. Never trust a politician, which is what Dobbs now is.”

* “Well at least his disingenuousness is in keeping with a politician. On CNN: ‘I hate you dirty foreigners!’ Preparing to run for office: ‘I love you foreigners! And you’re not that dirty!’”

* “Just another pathetic sellout. Lou, don’t bother.”

* “The only thing Dobbs had going for him was his anti-illegal stance. He just blew it. Otherwise he’s just another pundit. He’s suddenly Bill O’Reilly.”

Dobbs, 64, of Wantage, N.J., has admitted an interest in politics, and the New York Times reports a run for the U.S. Senate is possible in 2012 before testing presidential waters. {Do run Dobbs. Spend millions. I’ll have a good laugh. Great entertainment.}

The Americans for Legal Immigration Political Action Committee, or ALIPAC, was stunned by Dobbs’ apparent reversal, especially after it set up a website urging him to run for the presidency or Senate, a site which to date collected more than $666,000 in donations.

“This news is going to break a lot of hearts in America. The American people are suffering so much and so many of us, myself included, believed in Lou Dobbs,” said William Gheen, president of ALIPAC. “I am hurt, dismayed, angry, sad, exasperated, red faced, embarrassed, and more after seeing this video.”

Gheen is now asking for feedback from the public on Dobbs’ new remarks.

It was just last week that Dobbs abruptly left CNN after decades with the cable network. The anchor’s refusal to drop “birther” stories about challenges to President Obama’s constitutional eligibility to hold office was a major source of contention with CNN management, leading the unconventional journalist to walk away from the network and more than $9 million, according to the New York Post.

Then from newsmax.com by Dan Weil dated 11/25/2009 entitled, “Dobbs Says He Now Backs Amnesty“:

In a little-noticed interview last week, Lou Dobbs announced that he now supports amnesty for the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants living in the United States

Since he left his job as a CNN commentator two weeks ago, Dobbs’ has been bandied about as a Senate candidate in New Jersey. And now he is indicating that he might run for president.

But Dobbs became famous for his strong views on illegal immigration and foreign trade. Now that he’s a would-be politician, those views appear to be softening. Dobbs told Spanish-language network Telemundo he now supports a plan to legalize millions of undocumented workers, a stance he long lambasted as an unfair “amnesty.”

“Whatever you have thought of me in the past, I can tell you right now that I am one of your greatest friends and I mean for us to work together,” he said in a live interview with Telemundo’s Maria Celeste. “I hope that will begin with Maria and me and Telemundo and other media organizations and others in this national debate that we should turn into a solution rather than a continuing debate and factional contest.”

Dobbs twice mentioned a possible legalization plan for the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S., saying at one point that “we need the ability to legalize illegal immigrants under certain conditions.”

On Monday, Dobbs appeared on former Sen. Fred Thompson’s radio show. When asked by the former presidential candidate if he was urged to consider running for president himself and was indeed weighing a bid, Dobbs replied, “Yes is the answer.”

Dobbs told Thompson he was undecided about running for president but said he would “be talking some more with some folks who want me to listen to them the next few weeks.”

He later told a Washington radio station, “For the first time, I’m actually listening to some people about politics. . . . I think that being in the public arena means you’ve got to be part of the solution.”

It’s unclear whether Dobbs, who received an $8 million severance payment when he left CNN, would run as an independent or a Republican.

On Tuesday, Dobbs’ spokesman Robert Dilenschneider sought to quiet the presidential speculation a bit.

He told The New York Times, “I think Lou is realistically saying, that’s a long way off, but if he did run for office, there’d have to be an intermediary step, such as the Menendez seat.” He was referring to a 2012 race against incumbent Democrat Robert Menendez.

Dilenschneider said Dobbs was inspired by Republican gains in New Jersey this month and by President Obama’s decline in popularity.

Dobbs briefly considered a primary run against Republican gubernatorial candidate Christopher Christie, who won the election over incumbent Democrat Jon Corzine.

Dobbs has received the most attention for his strident opposition to illegal immigration. Menendez is an avid supporter of immigrant rights and the only Hispanic member of the Senate.

In other words, Dobbs believes he can cast aside his previously (supposedly) strongly held beliefs and that now he has ANY credibility left at all? Dobbs, you’re a pathetic joke.

    Wow….just wow.

I, Too, really liked him. What a shame.
Just another bs’er evidently like “O” and the rest of them. Will say and do anything to get the vote.

I said before too, who can you trust anymore. They all LIE.
For a vote. You know what’s funny? If you stop and think about it…..most of them have got to know (or they are dumber than we think) but they have all got to know that they won’t be voted in or back in by most Americans now.
Thus, that just leaves the illegals and others that they have fooled and duped and still are that they can count on for the votes. It kinda reminds me of the very first long comment I made on Red Pills about how I saw that this is what was happening and how it will most likely continue.
They know exactly what they are doing.
How do you think the messiah got in?

Wow, Mr. Dobbs just got added to the list of jokers. These people will sell their souls for a vote. What am I talking about……they all already have.

And I really liked him too.

Well, I am not particularly surprised. More and more people are turning to politics as a money-making opportunity these days. With the current contempt for the welfare of the people, it is an ideal time for our elected officials to pad their wallets with greed, fraud, embezzlement, swindles, Ponzi schemes, and whatever other means of robbing the taxpayers they can come up with. After all, what heve they got to lose besides the next election? They certainly won’t go to jail for their crimes. Responsible government? Hah!
